Wood as Lincoln

"A Visit with Abraham Lincoln"

Steve Wood, from Claremont, N.H., will give a first-person historical presentation as our 16th president. His program will include details of Lincoln's visit to New Hampshire in 1860, his subsequent election to the Presidency, and the great personal and national trial of the Civil War. After the formal presentation, he will step out of character and entertain questions about his portrayal of Lincoln.

Wood has been researching and portraying Lincoln at schools, libraries, historical societies and community events since 1995. He is a member of the Association of Lincoln Presenters and to date, the only member from New Hampshire. He and his wife have traveled to West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio for ALP conventions and in 2004 organized a visit to New Hampshire and Vermont for a group of fellow members. The Association of Lincoln Presenters can be found at http://www.lincolnpresenters.com

Wood has been featured in New Hampshire Magazine, on WMUR (NH) Chronicle, WCVB (Boston) Chronicle and New Hampshire Public Radio's Front Porch.
