2006 Program Highlights
In 2006, the GSDLN conducted over 1,100 conferences, workshops, training sessions, and meetings involving thousands of participants from across the state, region, nation and world.
The following links are highlights for 2006:
- Homeland Security Training - partnered with the NH Department of Emergency Management to train emergency managers across the state
- National Satellite-based Programming - conducted satellite conferences on "Children of Prisoners" and "Bullying" with local NH discussion following
- Emergency Response Training - conducted SARS, Hepatitis, and Meningitis training seminars for first responders in conjunction with the Governor's Office and the State Health Department
- Read Across America - used the network to facilitate NH kids participation in Read Across America
- NH Wild Series - conducted multi-session series for teachers and students on NH wildlife with NHPTV and the NH Dept. of Fish and Game Diplomats in the Classroom - Bow High School sponsored a series for high school students featuring prestigious leaders from around the world Marketing on a Shoestring - facilitated a workshop for NH entrepreneurs on marketing in conjunction with MicroCredit of NH
- Titanic - conducted an Internet 2 conference with Bob Ballard and Portsmouth 5th graders as Bob revisited the Titanic
- Advanced Placement Classes - developed and delivered high school AP classes in Literature and Composition, European History, etc.
